Farrel founded the Wingate Group in 2003 after a highly successful career as an investment banker, including holding positions as head of ANZ Private Bank and the Group Managing Director of Investec Bank (Australia) Ltd.

Recognised as one of Australia’s outstanding specialised financial service innovators and business builders, Farrel’s experience spans funds management, private equity, private clients, debt, structured investments, corporate advice, business strategy, capital markets, securitisation and funding for large privately owned businesses.

Franco Dogliotti

Head of Advisory

Franco has been involved in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and capital market transactions for 18 years, having initiated, advised on and closed transactions valued at more than A$3 billion. Franco’s experience includes advising large privately owned businesses as well as national and multi-national public corporations on both local and cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining the Wingate Group, Franco was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 18 years and a leading member of the firm’s Melbourne Corporate Finance team. Throughout his career, Franco’s focus has been on the creation and unlocking of value for privately held businesses as well as mid-sized public companies.

Chad Padowitz
B.Comm, Chartered Financial Analyst, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia
Chief Investment Officer

Chad is a specialist in both the equities and fixed income markets and has developed a reputation and following as an astute value investor. Chad has worked as an equities and derivatives analyst at HSBC Bank in London, followed by a role as an equities research analyst at First National Bank in South Africa. In 1998 Chad co-founded Aurica Financial Services, an asset management business which became a top 300 unlisted company in South Africa. In 2002 Chad joined AXA Ltd in Australia as an Equities and Fixed Interest Investment Specialist.

Chad joined the Wingate Group in July 2006 and is one of the founders of Wingate Asset Management.

Ryan Levin

Head of Principal Investment

Ryan has specialist analysis, structuring and product development skills. He has business-building and investment experience across three continents and brings substantial marketing, innovation, analytical and entrepreneurial skills to the Wingate team, as well as specific experience in the finance, insurance and loyalty industries.

Ryan was responsible for product development and technical marketing at Discovery Health (JSE: DSY) following which he founded Destiny Health, a Chicago-based health insurance company, spearheading what is now commonly referred to as the “Consumer Driven Healthcare” sector in the USA.

Joel Beebe

Director of Investments

Prior to joining Wingate in 2004, Joel worked at Merrill Lynch in both Melbourne and New York having been selected for Merrill Lynch’s Corporate Intern Program in 2000. He worked within the equities research and asset management (Blackrock) divisions before joining the investment banking group. Joel has strong company analysis and financial modelling skills and significant equity markets and corporate finance experience.

Daniel Bergamin
B. Bus, Economics & Finance
Head of Structured Finance

Daniel is a specialist in leveraged financing and capital structuring, corporate mergers and acquisitions and cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining the Wingate Group, Daniel spent 13 years with Credit Suisse Australia, including roles managing the firm’s counterparty hedging and debt exposures in the Precious Metals Group, and ten years as a Vice President of the number 1 ranked Acquisition and Leveraged Finance Group. In this role, Daniel was involved in arranging, underwriting and syndication in excess of A$15 Billion of senior and subordinated debt transactions across Australia and New Zealand.

Mark Harrison
Head of Property Finance

Mark has extensive experience and knowledge in all facets of the property and property finance space, built through various senior executive roles over the course of the last decade. He is a specialist in structuring high leverage property transactions, his most recent role having been with Ashe Morgan Winthrop, as the director responsible for their commercial lending business.
